Spanish Schools HISTORY . . . NSS started in 1995
as a development project to open the Nicaraguan
Spanish school industry to the international marketplace.
NSS's schools operated as a model of
sustainable development, demonstrating how local
Nicaraguan resources could create competitive market
value while offering fair paying income opportunities for
productive local labor. The
NSS project also helped support community-based social,
cultural and educational development programs in the local communities where the
schools operated, and supported the Instituto
Henry George education project in
Managua (now the Centro Educativo Internacional Henry George). As a result of the NSS
project, thousands of international students have been
attacted to study in Nicaragua since 1995, and the
positive economic impact of the NSS
project on the local communities where NSS
schools have operated has been significant. The
culmination of the NSS project was the
transfer of all three NSS schools to
local Nicaraguan ownership in 2006. As of 2010, there are
at least 12 Spanish school programs in
five Nicaraguan departments, owned and/or managed and
staffed by personnel who formerly worked with and/or
benefitted directly from the NSS program
model.

Spanish Schools TODAY . . . NSS is now operating a Spanish
language and cultural
immersion program in Managua
in the centrally located Centro
Educativo Internacional Henry George ("CEIHG").
The goal of the NSS Managua progam is to offer an
innovative and engaging learning experience for
international students of all ages and language ability
levels who are interested in rapidly improving their
language and cultural communication skills, while also
learning about the realities of life in Nicaragua, Latin
America, and developing countries in general. See the NSS Program

NSS also
continues to refer students to other
Spanish schools in Nicaragua which are located in the departamentos of: Rivas (San Juan del Sur), Granada, Masaya, Managua, León, Matagalpa,
and Estelí. Students who are interested in participating
in a Spanish immersion program at one or more of these
locations can contact NSS and we will e-mail you the current contact
information we have for each school.
